Great value!

Very useful in quick drug dosage and interaction, with bibliographic refferences! Recommended!

Fast! Fast! Fast!

The best drugs application over there. Very fast to lunch and faster search than any other apps. The drugs database are more comprehensive. Highly recommended. Beats Epocrates in all aspect!

The only drug program you need

I am a family doc that does office work, housecalls and ER. This is the only medication program I use. I also use the primary care tarascon as well as the emergency medicine one. All 3 are realty quick on the iPhone 4.

Application not working

I have been waiting for the application to be launched on iphone, received an email and bought it but it will not work on my iphone 3.0 version, what a tragedy, Now I have to ask apple/tarascon to refund my money I dont know how long it will take. When click on tarascon support it says requirement iphone 3.0 or higher but it is not working for me. no other help available.

Locks your phone

I bought the app because I used the pocketbook as a medical student. The app is ok, but not the best (no pill pictures, no detailed pharmacokinetics, eg no Half life) but the most annoying thing which will make me never purchase another product from them. They locked the app as soon as they decided I needed to upgrade) ..bye bye

Great app, but you have to keep paying

Great app, and I especially use it for Canadian specific drugs. I would of given this 5 stars, but after paying the high price for this app, it suddenly stopped allowing me to access its library because I need to pay $45 every year. Im all for paying for subscription updates, but why cant I keep accessing the non-updated library if I choose not to pay for the yearly updates? If I buy a book in 2014, I can still read that book in 2015, knowing that a newer more up-to-date version is available. Frustrating.

Money grab

I purchased this app during clerkship in 2011 / 2012. It was working well and was a valuable resource, but then all of a sudden this year it denied me access to the content and demanded a 50$ subscription in order to even use the app at all, even to access previous content. Im surprised this is permitted by apple, as this was not a condition of the app when originally purchased (for a hefty price). Ridiculous.

A 5 star app until the exorbitant yearly subscription.

I loved this app since purchasing it in 2011 then out of the blue the update stated to renew it I would have to pay close to 50 dollars which is an insane amount for a yearly subscription. I was upset when I couldnt look up the older version that I had paid for and deleted the app from my iPhone.

A brick once times out

Useful app BUT Few updates to justify price hence did not renew subscription Once timed out could not access. Petty theft by this company Support was useless

It Works

This is an application is a tool that is used to save lives. It works adequately in terms of a simple interface, the info is consistently updated and most importantly, it comes from a trusted source.

Certified Wound Specialist, MD

I have been using it for years. I really like it and I think it is worth the price.

Misleading wont buy again

Better options out there. Once subscription is over one cannot use the app any longer unless you buy it again. If I am paying a full price I expect to own the content and not have to be forced to buy another subscription. It should be my choice. I refuse to buy this guide any longer. I am happy with Medscape and Micromedex which is enough for my needs in internal and family medicine.

Still worth the price

This app is great despite having to pay $40 a year. I only wish they added pictures of the medication.

The deluxe paper version on your phone

Have used this since the 1990s. High price is the only reason this is not a five star review. Also would be nice to have half-life of meds so I would not have to use a competitor for that.

Updates every time you open

Nice app but it forces you to answer a dialog box for updates every time you open it. For how much this costs this is unacceptable and needs to be fixed.

Tarascon Pharmacopeia

This application is very similar to that of the book "Tarascon Pharmacopeia Desk Reference...but you will soon discover that this app is very easy to use and makes a quick reference to drugs, tables, and an interaction guide where you can cross-reference drugs and view list of known drug interactions. If you are a doctor or someone who prescribes drugs I would highly recommend purchasing this app.

Great Quick Reference

You will need another more comprehensive drug reference like the free Medscape app (which also gives you formulary information) to look up things like the pharmacology or renal and hepatic dosing. This app to me though is worth the price to have in addition to the above app because it quickly gives you the most salient, important information about a drug in an easy to read one page format. It has great information on drug monitoring and subclass warnings and is the only reference Ive found that tells you which beta blockers are safe in a cocaine addict. Also unique to this app are various reference tables that give you things like pediatric dosing in teaspoons for common meds like acetaminophen, fluoride supplementation doses depending on how much is in your local water, insulin pharmacokinetics, and diabetes goals. I will say, however, that the diabetes goals are taken from the Diabetes Standards of Care from 2010, and it desperately needs to be updated as this is published annually and it doesnt mention hep B vaccination or new cholesterol guidelines. Also, I should point out that this reference has adult and Peds FDA approved as well as off label indications and dosages, which I think is essential. Ive tried several drug references and Medscape, this, and the Davis drug guide are probably the best out there. Medscape is free and the obvious choice for a comprehensive drug reference, but to me this app is well worth it as your primary prescribing reference for all the above reasons. The Davis drug guide is nice but I cant recommend over this one as a paid app.

"Updates" EVERY time you open it

EVERY time you go into this app, a pop-up window stops you from proceeding and tells you an update is available, and asks if you would like to download it. Every time. Even if you download, when you move out of the app and then go back in, it will tell you another update is available. Over and over again, each and every time you re-enter the app. ANNOYING. I have the feeling they are not truly updating the content 100 times a day.

Annoying!

Been using this app for years. Good information but it makes you update "every time" you enter app. Even if you leave app and come back in a few sec, says there is an update. This is So annoying when trying to look a drug up and your typing is interrupted by this pop up. PLEASE FIX and I will give you 5 stars.

ANNOYING RENEW SCREEN EVERYTIME IT IS USED!

Useful app but please stop the RENEW screen everytime - there should be some way to turn this off. This makes me angry everytime! 04/27/2015 DO NOT UPDATE or you will lose complete function as there is only screen mandating you pay $40 to be able to use the app you already paid good money to use. NO notification that this was going to happen was given. GOODBYE Tarascon. DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR APP AS IT WILL REQUIRE A CONTINUOUS SUBSCRIPTION TO USE UNLIKE IN THE PAST.
